It is unknown how Tengri looks. He rules the fates of entire people and acts freely. But he is fair as he awards and punishes. The well-being of people depends on his will. Tengri worship is first attested in the Old Turkic Orkhon inscriptions of the early 8th century. Other gods Umay (The Turkic root umāy originally meant 'placenta, afterbirth') is the goddess of fertility and virginity. Umay resembles earth-mother goddesses found in various other world religions. Ergenekon is the name of the legendary valley, which according to Turkic mythology was a place of refuge in which the Turks were trapped for four centuries until a blacksmith melted some rocks and opened a gate so that a gray wolf called Borteçine could lead them out. Since then a New Year's ceremony is celebrated commemorating the legendary ancestral escape from Ergenekon. Ergenekon fits what is written in Chinese sources about the origins of the Göktürks. (source: Wikipedia) The genesis story of the Turks is paralleled in the Roman myth of Romulus and Remus, the traditional founders of Rome, and Kaveh the blacksmith of Isfahan in Türkic Aryan mythology. Interestingly, some "historians" while talking about the history of Azerbaijan, ignore the pre-Seljuk history of Azerbaijani Turks, and try to depict Azeris as Turkified people. They try to show Turks as comers, and try to falsificate the ancient history of this land. In this video, we will talk about one of the ancient, pre-Islamic, pre-Seljuk Turkic tribes of Azerbaijan and neigboring lands. In the historical sources of Georgian and Hay people they were depicted as pagan, fierce and brave people who owned their own cities in some places of Georgia. However, while analyzing the history of Bun-Turks from Georgian historical documents, it is shown that Bun-Turks were not the only Turkic inhabitants of Caucasus. Much of what we know of ancient history is the history of militaries: their conquests, their movements, and their technological innovations. There are many reasons for this. Kingdoms and empires, the central units of control in the ancient world, could only be maintained through military force. Due to limited agricultural ability, there were relatively few areas that could support large communities, so fighting was common. Weapons and armor, designed to be sturdy, tended to last longer than other artifacts, and thus a great deal of surviving artifacts recovered tend to fall in this category as they are more likely to survive. Weapons and armor were also mass-produced to a scale that makes them quite plentiful throughout history, and thus more likely to be found in archaeological digs. .

Ancient historians such as Pomponius Mela and Pliny the Elder refer to Turks around ancient Taurica (Crimea) and north of Azov with the names of Turcae, Tyrcae (first century AD) on their maps: https://goo.gl/WGjxkr --- Reference to Turcae in the forests north of Azov Sea on the world map of Pomponius Mela: https://goo.gl/9bpjtw --- Great ancient historian Herodotus also refers to Targitas [Tarkutay] and Tyrcai (falsely transliterated as "Iyrcai" as both Pomponius Mela refers to the name Turcae and Pliny the Elder refers to the Tyrcae separately) in the same area (BC 400s-500s). --- Hebrew Bible and Torah refer to Turks as sons of Togarmah, Ashkenaz (Scythians), Gomer (Cimmerians) and Japheth, Targitai may related to Togarmah. Judaic Turkic Khazars referred themselves as sons of Japheth, Gomer, Togarmah (sons of Noah) as also mentioned in Hebrew Bible and Torah. Interestingly, similar to "torah" name, "töre" means “custom, law, statute, tradition” in Turkic languages: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/töre https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Togarmah#Jewish_traditions --- According to Procopius, Cimmerians were ancestors of Oghur Turks (Bulgars, Khazars, Avars etc.): https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimmerler#Kökenleri Hurrians are Oghurs. Sumerians are Sabir (Subar) Turks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabir_people and Subartu, Sumer and Hurrians were related: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turukkaeans --- These and more are well-known by Turks but I'm sharing limited number of English links about Turkic antiquity for everyone. --- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asena#Legend "...The legend of Asena tells of a young boy who survived a battle; a female wolf finds the injured child and nurses him back to health..." "... These first Turks were akin to the Scythians ..." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashina#Origins_and_legends (Feel the strong pathetic struggle to show origins of these pure Turks, non-Turkic) https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usun (Gök-Türks are Ashina, Ashina is Usun, Usun is Saka/Massaget, and Saka is Scythian/Sarmatian — Turkic Ashina are rulers of Turkic empires of Khazars, Bulgars, Gök-Türks, Huns, Scythians, so that's what the struggle is about) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asen_dynasty (Asen dynasty of Turkic Bulgars) Asena epos of Turks in Etruscans who created and developed the Roman civilization: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitoline_Wolf "...The Capitoline Wolf (Italian: Lupa Capitolina) is a bronze sculpture of the mythical she-wolf suckling the twins..." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etruscan_civilization#Origins "... The Etruscans called themselves Rasenna ..." (It's actually "Er-Asena" which means "Asena's men"). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumerian_King_List#Dynasty_of_Isin Sumerian dynasty of Isin, may be related to Asin (Asena). Their first king's name was Ishbi-Erra which lived around 1950 BCE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishbi-Erra Interestingly, after 2500 certain years later, a Turkic khagan bore the same Turkic name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishbara_Qaghan around 550 AD. Ishbara means "selfless, devoted, diligent". --- Now, dear conscientious person, see the lunatic effort of pathetic Eurocentrists, to show even the tribe who took the name "Turk" as the state's name for the first time, (Usun/Asena/Ashina) Indo-European. When they couldn't prove the Eurocentrist dreams, they tenaciously childishly twaddle again and again the same old concepts because whatever they do, the chain of the lineage ultimately hits the Turkic ancestry, genetics, language, culture, antiquity. In other words, they attack Turkic values, ignoring non-Indo-European heritage, trying to steal them, trying to show other peoples are retarded, but they have tossed a big rock named "Turk", that rock is bigger, much bigger than so-called Indo-European heritage strengthened itself with stealing from other antiquities with ridiculous fabricated "evidences". All of these evidences show a possibility of R1a-b origin for Turks, so that's why those Eurocentrists go lunatic, because they fear to face the possibility of a concept which offers another story which says white race doesn't originate from Indo-Europeans, and not all humanity originated from Africa. These pathetic allegations by Eurocentrists are also scientifically impossible but they always insist on their Eurocentrist dreams. They will keep singing the song contains nonsense, and we will fight for the truth, we will fight for our great ancestors.

Turkic mythology embraces Tengriist and Shamanist traditions as well as all cultural and social subjects being a nomad folk. Later, especially after Turkic migration some of the myths were decorated with Islamic symbols. It has many common points with Mongol mythology. Turkic mythology was influenced by other local mythologies. Tengrism (sometimes spelled Tengriism), occasionally referred to as Tengrianism, is a Central Asian religion characterized by features of shamanism, animism, totemism, both polytheism and monotheism, and ancestor worship. Historically, it was the prevailing religion of the Turks, Mongols, and Hungarians, as well as the Xiongnu and the Huns. It was the state religion of the ancient Turkic states: Göktürk Khaganate, Western Turkic Khaganate, Eastern Tourkia (Khazaria). In Irk Bitig, Tengri is mentioned as Türük Tängrisi (God of Turks). The term is perceived among Turkic peoples as referring to a national religion.

Gods in Turkic mythology Tengri Tengri is one of the names for the primary chief deity in the religion of the early Turkic people. The words Tengri and Sky were synonyms. Kayra is the Spirit of God and creator god. Ülgen is the son of Kayra and the god of goodness. The Aruğ (Arı) denotes to "good spirits" in Turkic and Altaic mythology. They are under the order of Ülgen and doing good things on earth.[1] Erlik is the god of death and underworld. Ay Dede is the moon god. Gün Ana is the sun god. Symbols As a result of the nomad culture, the Horse is also one of the main figures of Turkic mythology; Turks considered the horse an extension of the individual -though generally dedicated to the male- and see that one is complete with it. This might have led to or sourced from the term "At-Beyi" (Horse-Lord). The Dragon (Evren, also Ebren), also expressed as a Snake or Lizard, is the symbol of might and power. It is believed, especially in mountainous Central Asia, that dragons still live in the mountains of Tian Shan/Tengri Tagh and Altay. Dragons also symbolize the god Tengri (Tanrı) in ancient Turkic tradition, although dragons themselves are not worshiped as gods. The World Tree or Tree of Life is a central symbol in Turkic mythology. According to the Altai Turks, human beings are descended from trees. According to the Yakuts, White Mother sits at the base of the Tree of Life, whose branches reach to the heavens where it is occupied by various creatures that have come to life there. The blue sky around the tree reflects the peaceful nature of the country and the red ring that surrounds all of the elements symbolizes the ancient faith of rebirth, growth and development of the Turkic peoples. Legends The Grey Wolf legend The Wolf symbolizes honor and is also considered the mother of most Turkic peoples. Asena is the name of one of the ten sons who were given birth by a mythical wolf in Turkic mythology.[2][3][4][5] The legend tells of a young boy who survived a battle. A she-wolf finds the injured child and nurses him back to health. He subsequently impregnates the wolf which then gives birth to ten half-wolf, half-human boys. One of these, Ashina, becomes their leader and instaures the Ashina clan which ruled the Göktürks and other Turkic nomadic empires.[6][7] The wolf, pregnant with the boy's offspring, escaped her enemies by crossing the Western Sea to a cave near to the Qocho mountains, one of the cities of the Tocharians. The first Turks subsequently migrated to the Altai regions, where they are known as expert in ironworkers, as the Scythians are also known to have been.[8] Ergenekon legend The Ergenekon legend tells about a great crisis of the ancient Turks. Following a military defeat, the Turks took refuge in the legendary Ergenekon valley where they were trapped for four centuries. They were finally released when a blacksmith created a passage by melting rock, allowing the gray wolf Asena to lead them out.[9][10][11][12][13][14] A New Year's ceremony commemorates the legendary ancestral escape from Ergenekon.[15] Oghuz legends The legend of Oghuz Khagan is a central political mythology for Turkic peoples of Central Asia and eventually the Oghuz Turks who ruled in Anatolia and Iran. Versions of this narrative have been found in the histories of Rashid ad-Din Tabib, in an anonymous 14th-century Uyghur vertical script manuscript now in Paris, and in Abu'l Ghazi's Shajara at-Turk and have been translated into Russian and German. Dede Korkut stories Book of Dede Korkut from the 11th century covers twelve legendary stories of the Oghuz Turks, one of the major branches of the Turkish Peoples. It originates from the pre-Islamic period of the Turks, in which the Tengrism elements in the Turkish culture still outweighed. It consists of a prologue and twelve different stories. The legendary story which begins in Central Asia is narrated by a dramatis personae, in most cases by Dede Korkut himself.[16] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkic_mythology#Oghuz_legends

Tengrism (sometimes stylized as Tengriism), occasionally referred to as Tengrianism is a Central Asian religion characterized by features of shamanism, animism, totemism, both polytheism and monotheism, and ancestor worship. Historically, it was the prevailing religion of the Turks, Mongols, and Hungarians, as well as the Xiongnu and the Huns. It was the state religion of the six ancient Turkic states: Göktürks Khaganate, Avar Khaganate, Western Turkic Khaganate, Great Bulgaria, Bulgarian Empire and Eastern Tourkia. In Irk Bitig, Tengri is mentioned as Türük Tängrisi (God of Turks). The term is perceived among Turkic peoples as a national religion. As a modern revival, Tengrism has been advocated among intellectual circles of the Turkic nations of Central Asia, including Tatarstan, Buryatia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, in the years following the dissolution of the Soviet Union (1990s to present). It is still actively practiced and undergoing an organised revival in Sakha, Khakassia, Tuva, and other Turkic nations in Siberia. Burkhanism is a movement kindred to Tengrism concentrated in Altay. Khukh and Tengri literally mean "blue" and "sky" in Mongolian and modern Mongolians still pray to "Munkh Khukh Tengri" ("Eternal Blue Sky"). Therefore Mongolia is sometimes poetically referred to by Mongolians as the "Land of Eternal Blue Sky" ("Munkh Khukh Tengriin Oron" in Mongolian). In modern Turkey Tengriism is also known as the Göktanrı dini, "Sky God religion", Turkish "Gök" (sky) and "Tanrı" (God) corresponding to the Mongolian khukh (blue) and Tengri (sky), respectively. In Tengriism, the meaning of life is seen as living in harmony with the surrounding world. Tengriist believers view their existence as sustained by the eternal blue Sky, Tengri, the fertile Mother-Earth, spirit Eje, and a ruler who is regarded as the holy spirit of the Sky. Heaven, Earth, the spirits of nature and the ancestors provide every need and protect all humans. By living an upright and respectful life, a human being will keep his world in balance and maximize his personal power Wind Horse. It is said that the Huns of the Northern Caucasus believed in two gods. One is called Tangri han (that is Tengri Khan), who is thought to be identical to the Persian Aspandiat and for whom horses were sacrificed. The other is called Kuar, whose victims are struck down by lightning. Tengriism is actively practised in Sakha, Buryatia, Tuva and Mongolia in parallel with Tibetan Buddhism and Burkhanism. In Turkey, nazar are extensively used by almost everyone in their houses, in/on vehicles, baby clothes and even on buildings. Dropping lead onto a person's head (Kurşun dökme) is popular especially in eastern provinces. People observe traditions like hanging rags on trees; dropping water on someone's moving car wishing them to return very soon (like saying, "go like water, come like water"); knocking on wood three times with your right hand when an unwanted situation occurs, to prevent bad spirits from hearing about it; the importance of the number 40; wearing a red ribbon-headwrap (lohusa tacı) right after a woman gives birth; doing special ceremonies for beloved persons on the seventh (yedisi), fortieth (kırkı) and fifty-second (elli-ikisi) days after their death are some examples linked to Tengrism. An idiom in Turkish which is used when one feels ashamed of something — "Yerin yedi kat altına girdim" which means "I have gone into the seventh floor of the ground" — is linked to Tengrism. An idiom in Bulgarian has a positive meaning and is used when one feels euphoric and very glad: "на седмото небе съм" which means "I am in the seventh sky". For 40 days after birth, the newborn baby and his/her mother are required to stay in the home. On the fortieth day, a special ceremony is done that is called Kırklama or Kırk çıkarma. On that day, the baby is taken in a special bath called Kırk banyosu (bath of 40). Forty stones which were collected from 40 places are dropped into the water with a gold coin to give the baby a nice fortune. This water is taken 40 times and then dropped again onto the water while cleaning the baby's head. After the bath, special clothes are put on the baby for a special visit to the house of the grandparents called Kırk uçurma evi. This first visit is believed to be very important. Grandparents give the baby a specially-prepared basket of gifts called Kırk uçurma sepeti. Drinking Turkish coffee with your friend is believed to be worth 40 years of friendship. (The expression 'Bir fincan kahvenin kırk yıl hatırı vardır' means 'Drinking one cup of Turkish coffee together with your friend will not be forgotten for 40 years.) There is a convectional rainfall type in Turkey called Kırkikindi (Kırk+ikindi, where ikindi means mid-afternoon) which is believed to fall 40 days.

According to the ancient Turkic calendar of 12-year Animal Cycle the Epic of Ergenekon took place in 2637 B.C. (converted to Gregorian calendar). ___________________________________ ------------------------------------------------------------- "We have now entered the historical period. This is a period full of disasters in Turkish history which is mentioned with Ergenekon now. This period is supposed to be the period before the Göktürks. The renowned Turkish historian Zeki Velidi Togan stated that the first Turk, fed by a female gray wolf, was born in the foothills of the Tengri Mountains. The so-called Ergenekon Legend, which is thought to have been created by the Göktürks, could indeed be interpreted as an explanation for the springing forth and spreading of the entire Turkish civilization. Turks possess one of the oldest cultures and civilizations in the world. It is hard to precisely specify the beginning of Turkish history. There is a high probability that the oldest culture of Central Asia, the so-called Anav Culture, which was unearthed at the end of toilsome archaeological and anthropological research and has a history that goes back to 4000 B.C., has ties to proto-Turks. As we move forward into the more recent millennia of history, we more clearly see the linkage between the cultures of Kelteminar and Afenesavo (3000 B.C.), Andronova (1700 B.C.), Karasuk (1200 B.C.), Tagar and Tashtyk (700 B.C.) and proto-Turks. There is plenty of scientific evidence proving this linkage, most notably among archaeological findings obtained from the Pazyryk and Issyk mounds. In the meantime, research carried out over the last several years supports the argument that the Scythian civilization that emerged in the eighth century B.C. was a Turkish empire. There is not much doubt among historians about the Turkish nature of the Great Hun Empire, which ruled between 318 B.C. and 216 A.D., as well as that of its predecessor proto-Huns, whose presence was confirmed by Chinese sources. The Great Hun Empire, the Western Hun Empire and especially the European Huns were examined comprehensively by Western historians. There are not many people who do not know the story of the Great Hun Emperor Mete Khan (Oghuz Khan according to Turkish epics) and the glorious Turkish Khan Atilla. European Huns changed the course of world history as a result of the Germanic Migrations." (Murat Ocak, Introduction to: The Turks: Early ages, Y. T., 2002) "Many Turkic groups believed that they were descended from or closely associated with wolves. [...]. The cave where their ancestors were born is in the north of the Quman Mountain. These people have blond hair, green eyes, and red beards." (Mummy, Xinjiang: Xinjiang residents and their ancient culture, Xinjiang People's Publishing House, 2001, p.211) "The familiarity of the Turks with the technology of iron is illustrated by the legend of Ergenekon: the Turks escaped from imprisonment in the heart of the mountains by melting them down with the aid of bellows they had invented." (Turgut Özal, Turkey in Europe: and Europe in Turkey, K. Rustem & Brother, 1991, p.10) "The Turkic myths of Asena and Ergenekon reaches far back to Noah. His son Japhet had a youngest son named Turan. Turan had a wife named Athena (Açina, Asena)." (Hans von Aiberg, ZigZag Adem Havva, Metin Kılıç, 2005) _____________________________________ ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Oh race of Turks. If the sky above did not collapse and the earth did not give way, oh noble race, who would be able to destroy your nation and institutions?"

Along with Bun-Turks, Caucasus was a homeland for Turkic tribes like Qypchaqs and Huns. Modern Azer Turks are not only descendants of Seljuks, but also other ancient Turks. In this video, our focus was mainly Bun-Turks, but in next video we are aiming to present the history of another ancient Turkic tribes!

Come and save the Tengri's sons, fight against those who want to see great ancient Turkness destroyed. They divided us, they lied about us to all peoples we used to rule. They said "arab" to some of us, and said "Mongol" to some of us, so they tried to delete the mighty "Turk" name from the mother Earth. The true spirit of the steppes, ancient nomadic Turks, unlike heavily settled minor Altaic nation Mongols, but those enemies of Turkness have changed this fact in their books, they tried to cut our bond with our great ancient bilge ancestors. That's when great Tengri answered our cry, and sent us another Atilla, named Atatürk! Non-Turks created myths, lied about us always in this very advanced age with no spirit. We, Turks, sons of the Eurasian steppes, sons of great ancient Scythia, sons of mother Tomyris, sons of Alp Er Tunga, sons of the north, root of the spiritful white race unlike their lies, their ignorance about us, we are still majorly white and spiritful, we, Tengri's true sons who sent to the world with his sacred Kut to rule the non-Turks, we, Türks, didn't forget, don't forget, never will forget. TENGRİ BİZE KUTU YİNE BAĞIŞLAYACAK, TÜRKLÜK YENİDEN YÜKSELECEK, TÖRE YENİDEN SAĞLANACAK, METE HAN APA GİBİ, ATTİLA APA GİBİ, BUMIN KAĞAN APA GİBİ, BİLGE KAĞAN APA GİBİ, CENGİZ HAN APA GİBİ TEK TENGRİDEN KUT ALMIŞ BİR YENİ BAŞBUĞLA TURAN YENİDEN DOĞACAK!
